Why did we commence writing about Dominic Dixon?

Why do we continue to do so?

Our ministry exposes Catholics in authority and with influence over others such as priests, bishops, institutions and persons in lay ministry who lead the faithful astray.

Our ministry is absolutely impersonal and objective. It is not focused exclusively on Dominic Dixon or on any other individual. It is a ministry of Catholic apologetics also serving to warn Catholics against potential spiritual dangers.

Dixon just happens to be one of those many Catholics in lay ministry whom we have exposed.

And, very importantly, he has the open support of preachers like Colin Calmiano, priests like Fr. Dominic Emmanuel SVD, Catholic Charismatic Renewal leaders like Simon Rodrigues, and bishops like Archbishop Bernard Moras
of Bangalore and the Vicariates of Kuwait and Southern Arabia (the latter courtesy of Aneel Aranha of HolySpiritInteractive, Dubai). He is thus enabled by them to reach out and access Catholics in institutions, parishes and prayer groups, and to speak on behalf of the Church in the secular media in India and beyond.

Their encouragement also helped him to con an organisation like UNITAR/CIFAL and their associates at ACTS into opening the door (which has now been closed) to him. See file no. 9.

Incidentally, his favored interests and activities happen to be in the areas of pornography, sexual morality (of youth in colleges)… and corruption!!!

Why do we believe that Dixon leads Catholics astray?

The information compiled in our reports exposes his complete lack of credibility, his blatant lies, misrepresentations, false claims, his downright criminal activities like anonymous threatening calls, intimidation of others through police complaints, legal charges and phone tapping (by his own admission), his being a convicted pedophile and deportee, and much, much more.

He is absolutely unqualified to author books on psychology and to “minister” to Catholics.

He therefore has no business to publicly teach/interpret the Bible, to conduct courses on Pope John Paul II’s Theology of the Body and to conduct campaigns and courses in Catholic institutions, and to be allowed anywhere near children and youth.

Those who continue to back this impostor and sexual pervert will have to shoulder the blame along with him when the law in this country finally catches up with “Dr.” Dominic Dixon and everyone comes to know about who and what Dixon really is.

Dixon’s latest reaction to our exposés, the “legal charges” and “defamation case” against us and our associates, if pursued by him will only hasten his arrest and land him in jail on various counts.

His own relatives are eager to see him behind bars and have contacted us with the necessary documentation (which is on our web site) to that end.

The Archbishop of Bangalore (who is referred to by Dixon on page 9, point no. 27 of the “legal notice”* sent by him to me) and lay Catholic leaders in India and Dubai who prop up Dixon and his schemes will have to continue to bear with our naming them in our reports.

*Dixon requires us to apologize in writing to the Archbishop and the Chairman of the Bangalore Charismatic Renewal, and to compensate him financially for our having tarnished his name!!!

One does not have to wonder why, when filing “legal charges” of defamation against us, Dixon does not refute the very serious claim that his relatives and this ministry have documented about his being a pedophile, convict and deportee. And the other question about the authenticity of his various university degrees and educational qualifications. That, too, is something that the Indian police and courts would be very interested in. And that may only be the tip of the iceberg.

Almost every charge in the “legal notice” against this ministry is pure fantasy. My responses:

His point no. 1.

I do not own, operate or control the ephesians511 blog.

His point no. 3.

I just did a word search on my files. I have never called Dixon a “goon” or a “thug“. I have no time to waste checking out the other words that he claims I used for him. Some are however justified.

His point no. 4.

I have never at any time ever made a request to anyone for my articles to be published on the site http://www.holyspiritinteractive.net. In 2003, the site’s owner unilaterally published one of my articles.

His point no. 5.

I have never described Dixon’s organization as “illegitimate” or “resorted to blaspheming the Archbishop and the Chairman of the BCCRS“. (Incidentally, one can only blaspheme against God.)

His point no. 6.

“(Y)ou were asked to provide evidence for such a tall allegation against our client“.

We were never asked to do so.

His point no. 7.

“(O)ur client was never convicted for the crimes that you have motioned on your website, but you have accused our client of being a ‘serial pedophile’.” And the rest of point no. 7.

The government documentation sent to us from the US by Dixon’s relatives is available at our site.

His point no. 8.

“On the 5th of May 2017, a petition against you and Mr. Sunil Francis Lobo was filed at the Federal Court of Canada and was duly acknowledged by the Protonotary and the Counsel for the Federal Minister for Immigration.”

For a prolific social media activist, Dixon never mentioned his association with Canada (points nos. 7 and 8) before. What was he hiding?

Where is the proof that Dixon filed that fictitious petition?

His point no. 9.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has taken cognizance of some complaint from Dixon and he has “received a positive reply“.

Where is that “reply”?

His point no. 10.

“(Y)ou had claimed that his sister, Mrs. Charmaine Tilaka and her husband, Mr. Charles Tilaka, Australian citizens, had telephoned you in 2014 and had complained to you that our client had abused their son(s). When our client had sought clarification from Mrs. and Mr. Tilaka about your allegations, they have issued a written statement to my client, and categorically denied having any contact with you.”

Where is that “written statement”?

If his relatives had not called and spoken to me, how on earth would I know their names?

His point no. 11.

“Our client instructs us to state that by your own confession, our client has evidence of you sending out emails using fake email accounts to people and to our client. The IP address of these emails can be traced back to your address in Chennai.”

By my own confession. Of course. I own around 10 gmail and yahoo accounts that I use for subscribing to different Catholic newsletters, for group mailing (as it is impossible to do so from Tata Docomo-vsnl), etc. And for ferreting out and exposing Catholics in ministry who engage in nefarious activities. I eventually include those emails in my final reports on the web site.

His point no. 12.

“(T)he malicious campaign titled “Criminal Acts of Mr. Dominic Dixon” was investigated by Cyber Crime investigators who have verified with Facebook, Google Inc. and Word Press. Cyber Crime Police of Bengaluru have given their inputs, confirming your involvement of posting defamatory content about ETHOS INSTITUTE and its Chairman.”

Where are those “inputs”?

His point no. 13.

“(O)n 29.10.2014, our client had filed a case against you and had informed the Police Commissioner of Bangalore and other senior officers. Bangalore city police and Cyber Crime have done a thorough investigation on you and your accomplices. An FIR was then registered with the jurisdiction police station naming your accomplice Mr. Sunil Francis Lobo as Accused #1 and you as Accused #2.”

Where is the evidence that Dixon did so?

His point no. 16.

“(Y)ou have resorted to lies, manipulation and connivance to tarnish the image of our client, a private citizen and a person of high repute.”

Lies? All charges made by us are thoroughly documented.

Dixon, a convicted pedophile and homosexual, “a person of high repute”?

His point no. 19.

“The United Nations has taken cognizance of your illegal acts and have noted the damage that has been caused to my client during his presentation at the United Nation Headquarters where senior Ambassadors and Diplomats have inquired with him about your post when they have Google searched about my client’s credentials, to get to know the profile of my client before his presentation on Human Rights.”

Where is the evidence for that tall claim?

His point no. 23.

“You have generated huge amounts of money in the guise of being commissioned to run an investigative website. In 2013 between October and November, you had solicited around 5, 00, 000 (Five Lakhs) in the guise of your commissioning, but had utilized that amount towards your personal medical bills.”

Dixon has a fertile imagination.

What commissioning? What investigative web site?

In October 2013, I did receive Rs. 2 lakhs for my heart surgery, but it was from my youngest brother. I am also fully covered by medical insurance, again taken for me two decades ago by my brother who pays the annual premium.

I have never solicited money or conducted courses like Dixon does to generate money (“cancellation of dozens of his programs … resulting in low number of invitations for his talks, internationally; resulting in severe financial loss and instability“) as per his points 19 and 21.

But I do live by faith and accept unsolicited love-offerings and tithes. We also tithe to others.

Dixon ends by claiming Rs 1 crore (10 million) in damages from me.

There are twenty-eight points in the charge sheet. I have ignore thirteen of them in my rebuttal.

On the same day, June 8, Dixon also sent an eight page nineteen point notice to my “associate” Francis Lobo. He demands Rs 75 lakhs (7.5 million) in damages from him.

Dixon claims (point no. 4) that Mr. Lobo is my web master. My web master since our launch in 2003 is Mr. Antony Vijayendran (mentioned by Dixon in his point no. 12) who has no dealings with me apart from designing, reconstructing and maintenance of my web site. We connect by email or phone three or four times a year.

A large number of Catholics like Mr. Lobo are my “investigators” (as Dixon calls them); they check out people and organizations and send me material which I use in the making of my reports.

They collaborate with me in exposing evil and error. Several of them are priests.

Friends have pointed to me out that the content of the two charge sheets is not “legalese”.

A Swiss supporter of our ministry had this to say after reading the report on the Facebook posts by Dixon:

I’m appalled by everything I’ve read and am so sorry about the situation. I see that you have everything very well documented, which is the most important thing. I also notice that Dixon doesn’t say anywhere that he is innocent, instead he attacks you. That is in my eyes very revealing. Many of the things he says about you I personally know to be untrue, because of all the contact I’ve had with you for so many years.  Most legal threats remain just that: threats. I think that Dixon is the one who has everything to lose if he goes on with this.

Having myself been in a situation* similar to yours, I know how stressful it can be. But God never abandoned me, even when I was at my lowest point. So put all your trust in Him, for “Are not two sparrows sold for a small coin? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. Even all the hairs of your head are counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows” (Mt 10, 29-31). –Mrs. MLP

Please assure Francis of my prayers. I do think that anyone who knows Francis personally or professionally will easily see that Dixon is completely out of his mind. Francis’ collaboration with you in order to expose people like Dixon only speaks positively about him as a person and a Christian. –Mrs. MLP

*The writer and I had successfully collaborated in exposing the false Greek-Orthodox mystic Mrs. Vassula Ryden and terminating her frequent forays in India where she was supported by eminent Cardinals and Archbishops of the Catholic Church.

Ms. Ryden filed a case against MLP in Belgium. MLP was obliged to shut her web site because of a “trade mark” issue, but it soon reopened and is functioning under a new, neutral name.

Vassula Ryden’s false “ministry” is virtually non-existent today.

I was in Bangalore from the 13^th to the 19^th of August. While crisscrossing the city, it did not even dawn on me to check out the Miller’s Road address from which the “charge sheets” were posted.

Incidentally, I was in the city to file an F.I.R. with the police against a Catholic Congregation of priests. Spoiled with a choice of three top Catholic lawyers, our team (and, no Dixon, Mr. Lobo and Mr. Vijayendran were not with us on that team) consulted a real lawyer.

And our mission was a success.

It would not bode well for Dominic Dixon if we ever need to approach any of those lawyers to file a legal case against him.

Fr. Jacob Vellian, Diocesan, Kalamazoo, MI. Accused.

Priest of the Archeparchy of Kottayam, India, of the Syro-Malabar Church. Per USCCB Advisory, Vellian was working in Kalamazoo on temporary basis in 1973-1974. Diocese said in Fall 2010 it had recently received an allegation of sexual abuse of a female minor by Vellian. Review Board concluded the charges had merit. Vellian had been in active ministry in various dioceses in the US in the recent past. In 9/11 he was said to be living in Kerala India’s Kottayam district, in a Kaduthuruthi seminary.

I am the girl that Msgr./Fr. Jacob Vellian sexually assaulted when he was here in the United States in 1974-75. I am still suffering the consequences of his sexual abuse. He began by slipping his hands under my shirt or dress and rubbing my breasts. When I asked him to stop he said he was praying for me and placing his hands over my holy spirit which was located under my breasts! Later he moved to the lower part of my body, and used his fingers to explore my womb. I protested and he said it was ok, he was a priest, he had been in a medical mission field in India and had seen naked women all the time. Fr. Vellian was reported to the Vatican to the office of the CDF. Archbishop Moolakatt lied to the Vatican and told them Fr. Vellian was retired, and very, very sick and was in a nursing facility for retired priests. He said he would never be able to be active in ministry so he posed no threat. This was about 5 years ago. This was NOT true!! I have found him on the internet about 4 times since then – walking around, singing, being interviewed, walking through a church and a garden, kneeling at church holding a rosary, even presiding at a large Mass for some celebration in Kerala. Won’t SOMEONE over there in the Syro-Malabar Church tell the CDF at the Vatican that Archbishop Moolakatt is a lier, and that Msgr. Vellian has been up and about doing ministry pubically for awhile!! Will someone PLEASE give the address of where Msgr. Vellian is now living and his email or phone number? It is causing me much anxiety and distress to know that he has never been held accountable for what he did to me! I’m begging SOMONE OUT THERE, to do SOMETHING!

The Archbishop of Kottayam is one of the Metropolitans of the Syro-Malabar Church to which both Fr. Joby Kachappilly VC (reports nos. 4-16) and Fr. Sam Koonamplackil VC (report no. 17) belong.

Fr. Jacob Vellian, born in 1934 and ordained April 23, 1961, is a pedophile.

A Catholic priest accused of child abuse while in the US is allegedly living a quiet life in Kerala’s Kottayam district. Jacob Vellian has been accused by a woman of sexual abuse 26 years ago when she was a minor. He was then on a temporary assignment in the diocese of Kalamazoo in Youngstown city in Ohio. Vellian is currently staying in a seminary in Kaduthuruthi, sources said. The victim filed a complaint recently after undergoing a “trauma recovery programme”.

The church in Kerala and the police claimed they had no knowledge of the case or subsequent developments. “As of now we don’t have any information. Paedophilia is a serious offence and authorities there would surely have notified us if they had any suspicion,” said ADGP (Intelligence) A. Hemachandran.

The spokesperson of the Syro Malabar Church Paul Thelakkat said he was “shocked and surprised” by the news that “has come as a bolt from the blue”. He added: “We don’t know the veracity and foundation of the news. We will abide by the decision of the US church which is responsible for investigating and acting on this allegation.”

I am the victim of Fr. Jacob Vellian’s sexual abuse. I get anyone else that has been sexually abuse by him to contact my bishop – Bishop Paul Bradley of the Diocese of Kalamazoo, Michigan. He is a very trustworthy and honest man that will help you and will help us get Fr. Jacob Vellian punished appropriately. Also, I need your help. It’s a very sad thing but from what I have heard (only rumors in our community) the family created a lie against Msgr. Jacob Vellian during his short period in the U.S, that is why the case never continued and also why he was not stripped of his titles when he returned to Kottayam Metropolitan Diocese. Mar Matthew Moolakkatt accepted him wholly again as the Monsignor of Kottayam Diocese and the entire diocese defended Jacob Vellian against the charges.
He is one of the greatest Syriac scholars of the Syro Malabar Church and the most renowned in the study among Knanaya Priests, this man is responsible for the recreation of the Syro Malabar Qurbana along with other hieararchs in Rome, when it was translated to Malayalam. I do not think such a great priest would have been responsible for such allegations. But then again I have no connection or in depth background information on the case, so I could never know. It’s a dismal thing to say but it is true that such great priests can go afoul as well. –Thomas, June 5, 2014

Msgr. Jacob has NOT been released from the sexual abuse charges brought against him in the Diocese of Kalamazoo, Michigan. In fact, the case was sent to the CDF in Rome, and Archbishop Moolakkatt told the CDF that Msgr. Vellian was elderly and quite sick and staying in a retirement home for retired priests and would not be able to do any public ministry. So the CDF wrote to Bishop Bradley here in the Kalamazoo Diocese reporting that info. However, it has been seen on the internet several times that Msgr. Vellian is seen singing, lecturing, and presiding at very public masses. It appears that Archbishop Moolakkatt misrepresented the situation to the CDF. The Diocese of Kalamazoo is currently trying to get someone at the Vatican to speak with the Archbishop and encourage him to not allow Msgr. Vellian to do anything that could bring scandal to the church or that would allow him access to sexually abuse any other young people!
I happen to be that young 15 year old that was sexually abused by Msgr. Vellian back in 1975. I can guarantee you it was NOT a lie, it was NOT made up! He made me think I was special, he made me think he was my confessor and mentor, and he started buying me gifts, and then he started to sexually molest me. This went on for two years. The pastor at the church walked in on us one time with Msgr. Vellian laying on top of me and did or said nothing other than telling me to get back to my office where I volunteered. I went home and told my mother what happened and she told me I must have misunderstood his touches because a priest would never do that. That is exactly what Fr. Vellian was telling me. When he fondled me he said he was praying for me, he was asking the Holy Spirit to enter into me – and my Holy Spirit was located in my chest right where he was fondling me. He also told me he was from a mission in India – that was a medical mission, and he wanted to “examine my private areas” to see if woman in the US were built like the women in India, and that it was ok, because he worked at this medical mission and he was like a doctor and saw these things all the time. PLEASE, I BEG you – it is all true – if there is anything you can to do help protect any other little children he might be around, or to get his Archbishop to not let him perform public ministry, I beg you to do so. It seems the bureaucracy of the Catholic Church, and the compounded problem of him having retreated to India from California when he heard of my accusations are making it very difficult to hold him accountable for his actions! I only started speaking of this about 8 years ago, after I had been through considerable counselling for anxiety and depression and PTSD {post-traumatic stress disorder}. It was during this counselling that I was finally able to tell someone else about what happened to me. After having 2 other adults know about it and not doing anything I vowed I would never tell another soul. However, this counselor gained my trust and I finally spoke up, and that is when I made the report to my diocese, and filed a report with the police department. Our police cannot come after him, because we have a statute of limitations that does not allow for prosecution of a crime committed so long ago. So the only disciplinary avenue I have is the church. The church has not been able to get cooperation from Archbishop Moolakkatt. I know it was a long time ago, and Msgr. Vellian was relatively young at the time but I fear for any other young children he may have molested. Please pray for me as I still suffer from anxiety and fear of God because of what he did to me. Thank you Thomas for your kind reply. My Bishop, bless him, is going to pursue this matter with the CDF and Office for the Evangelism of Peoples at the Vatican. Quite frankly, I am so hurt and tender from all that has gone on, I can’t pursue this situation being fixed by myself any more. I am trusting my Bishop and his staff to handle it. If there is any way you could warn people around Msgr. Vellian, to NOT let him be alone with their children – or to tell the other adults and priests around him to please not let him be alone with children. He was so skilled at knowing how to make a child feel special and feel loved, which helped him to get my cooperation and silence, I believe I was not his first, nor was I his last victim. My heart aches that other children might also being hurt, because I was too embarrassed to speak up for so long.

This report is in continuity with files serial nos. 11 and 14 above.

This ministry had succeeded in getting the organizers to cancel two retreats which were to have been preached by the rapist-priest, the first in New York and the second in Sharjah. It was still unclear if he “ministered” at the two retreats in the UK (see flyers in report serial no. 11) or not.

The Vincentian Congregation’s Provincial Superior wrote — a copy of his letter to Fr. Joby in Rome is in the said report no. 11 — that Fr. Joby Kachappilly didn’t preach at the two U.K. venues whose flyers we posted in report no. 11. Fr. George Panackal VC who, as per the flyer, co-preached the Hounslow programme on July 29 would not confirm that Fr. Joby did not minister at Hounslow with him when he called me and one of the victims as per details recorded in our report no. 14.

So we did a bit of direct enquiry with the Hounslow* and Ramsgate** (U.K.) locations on our own.

Mauro (79844 10446) of Hounslow affirmed that Fr. Joby Kachappilly did not minister there July 29.

This is as per the claim of Fr. Kallumkal, his Provincial Superior.

When we called the Ramsgate number (77216 24883) on September 6, a lady responded and informed us that Fr. Joby was still there in Ramsgate, UK, and not in Rome as claimed by Fr. James Kallumkal. She also confirmed that Fr. Joby Kachappilly had led the Ramsgate Bible Convention and healing service on August 5. If, as Fr. Kallumkal wrote to me, he had “denied him permission to do so“, then Fr. Joby Kachappilly has disobeyed him and gone ahead without approval. Either that or Fr. Kallumkal is lying to us. On the 12^th of September we received an independent confirmation that Fr. Kachappilly is presently in Ramsgate.

Meanwhile one Mrs. Thangam (9037044015) called the rape victims from Kerala on September 12 and attempted to dissuade them from pursuing the issue. She claimed to be anti-charismatic (unlike the entire Vincentian congregation which is charismatic) and a social worker. Her call is evidence that despite their assurance of bringing the rapist priest to justice canonically, the Vincentians are still chasing other options.

We place on record that even after a lapse of over three weeks, one of the victims has still NOT received an acknowledgement of her August 20 written complaint (see report serial no. 13) that had been solicited from her by the Provincial Superior.

A priest of our community, Fr. Kurian Elavumkal VC, had an accident in the N.H. 47 and he died on the 24 of August. His funeral and related issues kept me busy these days. Hence I could not accomplish what I desired. I have obtained permission from respective superiors to appoint an Enquiry Committee. In two days time it will be constituted. In the canonical procedure it will be the committee that verifies the truth of the allegations, collects proofs, etc. Hence I request your understanding.

“The Committee is expected to collect evidence from the victim-survivors, the accused and witnesses from both sides by way of oral statements, documentary and other evidences.” It is two weeks since the Provincial Superior wrote but no one has contacted any of our team till date. Moreover, we have personally handed to him and his confreres on the 18^th of August all the evidence that we are willing to furnish them with to initiate canonical action against the rapist priest. The rest is on this ministry’s web site. Whatever else we have will be given to the law if and when the Church and the Congregation fail to fulfil their duties and assurances.

We still are not clear as to which Catholic Church authority deputed Fr. Martin Palamattam to represent the Church at the meeting with us in Bangalore on August 18.

We have anyway not heard a single word from him either… since almost a month now.

And we have not been informed of the reason for their choice of one Fr. John Kochupura CST (Congregation of St. Therese of Lisieux) to be on the “Enquiry Committee”. He too has not contacted us.

From our reports, the reader will be able to decide that every action or reaction of the Vincentians either as a Congregation or on an individual basis clearly indicates that the Vincentians are and have been since a long time, even prior to our taking up this case, aware of the sexual exploits of Fr. Joby Kachappilly as well as the identities of several of his victims.

I was one of the participants in the Evangelisation Retreat and Intensive Spiritual Refresher Course conducted at Divine Retreat Centre (DRC) February 7-25, 2000. Fr. Rufus Pereira, exorcist, and his secretary Erika Gibello (of the International Association for Deliverance or IAD and the International Association of Exorcists or AIE) were dining when I joined them at their table. I was among those who were permitted to use the dining hall meant for counselors, preachers and the priests of DRC. I was sharing with them my knowledge that certain individuals (lay persons engaged as counselors, as well as priests at DRC) were involved in the practice of Pranic Healing as well as Reiki, both of which are New Age alternative therapies. I had some of my papers spread out before them on the table when Fr. Augustine Vallooran, the Director of DRC, walked in. On seeing me with Fr. Rufus and Erika, his face showed anger. Fr. Rufus hurriedly exited the room, and a minute later, so did I with my papers. Two minutes later, I was summoned in by Fr. Vallooran.

The date was February 15, 2000.

I had already privately apprised him that Pranic and Reiki healers were active in DRC but he had been hostile, asking me to mind my own business. Now, made aware by Erika, he called me a liar. The dining hall, crowded with people, became completely silent. I withstood Fr. Vallooran to his face, repeatedly challenging his calling me a liar, and insisted that there were individuals at DRC who practised these occult therapies.

I suggested that if he lowered his voice and stopped shouting at me so that others could hear me, I would justify my allegations. Fr. Augustine changed tack and threatened to evict me from the Centre. I agreed that he had every right to do so but that he could not call me a liar. Finally, he conceded that I could stay on if I assured him that I would not conduct my private ministries while attending the Course, which I did.

This argument was witnessed by many individuals some of whom are in ministry in the Church even today.

That night, a counselor named Paul, occupying room no. 107, came to our room no. 18 (we were six occupants) in the other block. Because of the morning’s incident with Fr. Vallooran, I made a record of what happened and got my five roommates to sign it. Hardcopies of that single-page report have been in circulation since December 2001 in a set of six pages on related issues.

Here is what it says:

On the 15^th February at around 9:00 PM, after I had met with Fr. Rufus Pereira, a gentleman introduced himself to me as Paul and asked me if I am the person who has studied on Pranic Healing. I replied in the affirmative. He asked then if he could speak with me in his room no. 107. As it was occupied, he suggested my room (no. 18) which was in the other block.

I was under the impression that he wanted to learn from me why Christians may not be associated with Pranic Healing.

However, he revealed that he was trained under the founder (Master Choa Kok Sui) in 1994 at three levels (Basic, Advanced and Pranic Psychotherapy). [He said that] one Fr. George Kolath of Changanassery diocese had influenced him.

He mentioned that their leader in Kerala is Sr. Eliza Kuppozhackel*. He used terminology like auras, prana, chakras, etc., and said that he could feel, if he tried to, our etheric aura layers 3 to 4″ over our physical body.

Unasked, he proceeded to conduct a demonstration for the six of us present, on how to produce and experience Pranic power and energy. (Hastily) interrupting him, I presented my findings and conclusions that such practices are unacceptable, occult, satanic and they are, in philosophy and methodology, incompatible with Biblical revelation and Church teaching.

When I concluded after about 20 minutes, brother Paul, of his own accord, knelt down in the floor and asked for prayer.

This counsellor of Divine Retreat Centre returned on 16^th night and had discussions and prayer with some of the undersigned. All the undersigned are witnesses to the truth of these things.”

At the bottom of the page I had written in all caps:

His (Br. Joseph Michael’s) article “On the Road with the Lord” was carried in (the Potta Fathers’ English monthly) Vachanotsavam (issue of) June 2000. He is a teacher of Vipassana (meditation) and is into Reiki, Pranic Healing, etc.

I wrote (about this) to the authorities at Divine Retreat Centre. Refer to my letters to them dated 14.06 to 20.06.2000.

Counselor Paul met me a couple of days later and categorically denied that he had ever come to my room! Clearly I was being discussed in the corridors and rooms of the DRC and he had been warned.

From all of the above we can derive some conclusions:

1. Not only are the priests in authority at the Divine Retreat Centre ignorant of these New Age alternative therapies, they do not want them talked about at the Centre. They certainly do not want anyone to preach about them from the stage.

At the same Course, two of the preachers were Advocate A.M. Mathew of DRC and Fritz Mascarenhas of Bangalore. I had a discussion with both of them in Advocate Mathew’s room on February 8 using my bunches of papers to convince them of the seriousness of the matter. I had known Advocate Mathew for at least 15 years earlier when he had preached a retreat in Delhi at the invitation of our team. It was my second encounter with Bro. Fritz and he did not know me that well. However, both of them got the point. They delivered their talks later in the morning. I was stunned to hear them rail against Yoga and Zen, Pranic Healing and Reiki, asking Catholics why they would want to be in bondage to occult, New Age stuff.

At lunch, there was pandemonium in the common dining hall. Some priests who were attending the Course loudly condemned the two preachers for categorizing Reiki and Pranic Healing as evil practices. Apparently someone approached Br. Fritz and asked him why they were evil and he had no answer. (This is the problem with 99.99% of our preachers.) Next, they lodged a complaint with Fr. Vallooran. Bro. Fritz never once again uttered so much as a word about New Age meditations and alternative medicines.

The following week, after the public incident with Fr. Vallooran on the 15th, I fled to Advocate Mathew’s room, told him what had happened and wept while he held me in a fatherly embrace and consoled me.

2. So, it continues that Catholics attending retreats at DRC are never warned of the spiritual dangers of New Age meditations like T.M., Yoga, Vipassana and Zen and alternative medicines like acupuncture, acupressure, homoeopathy, Reiki and Pranic Healing to name just a few.

At the same time, counselors continue to train in them and even recommend them to counselees.

From this report and the others preceding in the series as well as the ones to follow this, one will see that the problem is extremely serious.

Yet thousands of people sail in and out of DRC every week without noticing any of the things that I have seen and recorded. Many of these people are in charismatic ministry. They are leaders of Covenant Communities and of large and small prayer groups. But they know precious little. And do not want to learn.

How relevant is the word of the Lord through the prophet Hosea (4:6) Douay-Rheims:

My people have been silent, because they had no knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will reject thee, that thou shalt not do the office of priesthood to me…

The New American Bible reads:

My people are ruined for lack of knowledge! Since you have rejected knowledge, I will reject you from serving as my priest.

Even the monthly magazines of Potta and DRC have printed New Age error. I have not read a single issue of their publications since more than 15 years and so I cannot say if the errors have ceased or if they continue.

That Fr. Vallooran himself has, as recently as June 2013, recommended Yoga to a retreatant, is documented by me on page 2 of my report DIVINE RETREAT CENTRE ERRORS-05.

On the same page I reported that the Vachanotsavam issue of April 2000 headlined a story about the “Cardinal Padiyara Nature Cure and Yoga Ashram“. I copied therein my letter of April 25 to the editor and my letter to Fr Augustine Mundackatt VC.

The founding father of the Divine group of institutions, Fr. Mathew Naickomparambil and other Vincentian retreat preachers take treatment there.

It is therefore not surprising that they will neither condemn New Age in their talks nor will they permit others to do so.

*Sr. Eliza Kuppozhackel MMS is discussed in several of my reports. She is over her head in New Age and propagates the therapies institutionally in Kerala along with the rest of her Congregation.

VIPASSANA MEDITATION:

In June 2000, Vachanotsavam magazine carried a ‘testimony’ On the Road with the Lord by Joseph Michael, a De La Salle religious brother who completed a 3-week evangelisation course for lay-ministers in Muringoor (he was the room-mate of this writer and had shared with this writer that he was proficient in pranic healing and other New Age therapies), followed by a retreat for the religious by the Potta fathers in Sri Lanka. Despite and after all this, he advertises that he attended “a course in Buddhist meditation at the Vipassana Meditation Centre, Kanduboda, Sri Lanka.

“On my return, I announced my availability to teach this meditation to my Catholic students. The response was great and I conducted these sessions for them in the Brothers’ Chapel,” he writes.

Bro. Joseph Michael is the Director of the Institute of Spiritual Formation of Asia, Colombo and is thus able to influence many into doing a Vipassana course! Though he truthfully admitted that Vipassana is a Buddhist meditation, his article … was published in Vachanotsavam, which is the monthly of the Vincentian Fathers of the Potta Ashram.

You must be aware that every major Catholic evangelist strongly opposes the practise of yoga by Christians even in its most innocent forms as a simple breathing exercise or physical workout.

Bro. Trevor Lewis [Jeevan Asha Ministries, Mumbai] and Bro. Fritz Mascarenhas [Bangalore] include a condemnation of yoga in all their talks whenever they preach against occult practices like Zen, Reiki, Pranic Healing, etc. I have heard Bro. Fritz speak against yoga at Divine Retreat Centre itself. I am in complete and whole-hearted agreement with these preachers. […]

So it is most unfortunate that Vachanotsavam magazine has printed in its issue of April 2000 the information that a Cardinal of the Catholic Church founded a yoga centre and died in it: Cardinal Padiyara passes away,
page 8.

That particular information should have been edited out. Its inclusion is interpreted, rightly or wrongly, as an endorsement by the Church as well as by the Potta fathers that yoga [which is promoted by a Cardinal] may be safely and beneficially practised by Catholics.

During some of his recent talks, Fr. Mathew Naickomparambil VC has been sharing about his recuperating at a nature-therapy centre in Kerala. We are concerned that it could be the same one. Could you please clarify?

Also, many of us who love Potta and Divine Retreat Centre as our own, are of the firm opinion that even if it is a different one from the Yoga Centre, it is better that we do not refer to “nature cure” when preaching Jesus Christ, as less-informed persons might get misled or scandalized. Once again, we request you to clarify your position.

We have circulated copies of this letter to evangelists and lay leaders across the country as we are concerned about the increasing acceptance in the Church of yoga as a harmless physical exercise which it is not.

I reproduce below my letter (edited) to Fr. Augustine Mundackatt VC of Divine Retreat Centre (In December 2003, I was contacted by Fr. Mundackatt and my work was used by his team on their Australia mission in January 2004):

Dear Reverend Father Augustine Mundackatt VC,

Please refer to the article “On the Road with the Lord” on pages 12-14 of the June issue of Vachanotsavam which I received by post today. It was written by Br. Joseph Michael FSC from Sri Lanka. We were roommates at the Divine Retreat Centre from February 7 to 25 while attending the Intensive Spiritual Refresher Course for priests, nuns and lay leaders in fulltime ministry.

While I greatly appreciate his testimony, I would like to bring to your attention certain facts about him and hos “testimony”.

In his article, he states “(I was informed) of a vacancy existing in a course on Buddhist meditation. I opted to participate in this course conducted by Ven. Madawala Upali (his guru is a Buddhist monk!) from August 19 to September 2, 1991, at the Vipassana Meditation Centre, Kanduboda. On my return, I announced my availability to teach the meditation to my Catholic students. The response was great and I conducted these sessions for them in the Brothers’ chapel.”

I have been doing research on alternative medicines like Pranic Healing and Reiki as well as into Eastern Meditation systems like Zen, T.M., Vipassana and also the practice of Yoga. Two of my articles on Pranic Healing are enclosed herewith for your kind perusal. I have given detailed information on the subject of Pranic Healing to Advocate A.M. Mathew after discussions with him in his room on February 8. On pages 67 to 69 you will find photocopies of an article by Capt. Mervin John Lobo published in your Divine Voice magazine of September 1999, pages 11 to 13. On page 11, he lists Vipassana along with Pranic Healing and Reiki under New Age. On page 12, he writes, and I quote, “It is pathetic to state that some of our clergy and laity are fascinated with Vipassana what Gautama Buddha had himself taught … This certainly is not the teaching of the Catholic Church.

Incidentally, I have sent my articles to Divine Voice on March 3, 2000.

On page 11 of his article, Capt. Lobo writes against the use of the word OM by Christians.

It was very sad to see that at the Bible College that I attended at Divine Retreat Centre from July 4 to August 15, 1999, many of the participants (lay persons and nuns) repeatedly sang bhajans using the OM mantra!!! Many participants were very unhappy about it but we could nothing as it was welcomed by the majority.

Returning to Bro. Joseph, he admitted at our very first meeting that he was into Zen, Pranic Healing, etc. Although I showed him my work, findings, etc., he was not interested to discuss anything or to have free copies that our other four roommates gladly accepted from me. Till the day he left, he was of the opinion that those practices are not in conflict with the Bible or Catholic teaching. Please bear in mind that by his own admission he teaches these to his young Catholic students! From what I could gather in my talks with him, charismatic retreats are just one more mystical experience for him alongside his other spiritual adventures.

During our stay at Divine Retreat Centre, there was one more incident that requires your attention. I append herewith the photocopy of a handwritten statement made by me at the Refresher Course on February 18, 2000, and I now type out the matter for your reading:

I gave Paul a copy of one of my articles on Pranic Healing.

Bro. Joseph did not, unlike our other roommates, involve himself in the proceedings but observed and listened from his bed. I was compelled to put the events in writing and take the witness of my roommates because a couple of days later Paul denied that he had come to my room when it was known that the matter had reached the awareness of the Divine Retreat Centre authorities. He also told my roommates that I was in dire need of inner healing, counseling, etc.

Referring once again to Bro. Joseph’s article, on page 14 of the Vachanotsavam, in the second-last para he speaks of his encounter with fulltime lay ministers who were his roommates. One was John Pereira; the other is myself.

Bro. Joseph is a wonderful person but it remains a fact that he has been subtly deceived by his exposure to Buddhist meditations and occult healing therapies.

But what floors me is that his article stating that he is a Vipassana teacher to Catholic students is carried in your Vachanotsavam magazine. […]

Also the article carries in it your name … That in fact is the reason that I am writing to you now, because he mentions that “Fr. Augustine encouraged me to put (my testimony) into writing.” Thousands of Vachanotsavam subscribers all over the world will this month read the article and be either confused or misguided by the positive certificate given to Vipassana. […]

Will someone in Divine Retreat Centre have the courage to issue a statement correcting the situation?

Now I want to bring to your notice a news item that was carried in the Vachanotsavam issue of April 2000 titled “Cardinal Padiyara passes away“. I enclose herewith a copy of it along with a photocopy of my letter dated April 25, 2000, addressed to The Editor, Vachanotsavam. I have not received an acknowledgement. Catholics are already confused as many Catholic priests are propagating yoga through training sessions and publishing of books on yoga practice and now your article gives the impression that the yoga system is approved by Divine Retreat Centre. I believe that a clarification is needed here too. It will be good for me to receive it to include in my forthcoming article on yoga.

Almost every major Catholic lay preacher in India has received copies of my articles. I send them also to leaders of prayer groups in different cities. I have met many of the personally over the last 15 years of my encounter with Jesus Christ and my coming into ministry. Many of them have blessed my work and I believe that they have used it in their ministries.

I am sure that you would like to read Fr. Fio Mascarenhas SJ’s letter to me, page 6 of the 75-page set. I met him on the 31^st of March in his room at St. Peter’s Church in Bandra, Mumbai, just after he mailed that letter to me. He called me a crusader, and blessed and greatly encouraged me.

Every single lay preacher I have met is of the firm opinion that Yoga and OM chanting are totally incompatible with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Some of these preachers give retreats or sessions at Divine Retreat Centre. I have to congratulate the Centre that OM has never been used, as far as my knowledge goes, in praise and worship at the Centre or in retreats conducted outside. Neither does it appear in your hymn books (whereas it most unfortunately is there in the Praise the Lord hymn books of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, Bhajan nos. 368 to 373.

I have attended several retreats and programmes at Divine Retreat Centre for six years now including the first Pentecost Blaze for counselors three years ago, apart from six weeks at the first Divine Bible College. I was on the Service Team of the Charismatic Renewal in Delhi from its inception in 1982 and I was present on all days when the Potta Fathers first preached in Malayalam in Delhi at Shahdara and Noida in 1990 or 1991.

During my research into New Age alternative medicine, I was shocked to find countless nun-sisters and priests who are practitioners and teachers of every conceivable type of occult therapy from Pranic Healing to reiki and AcuYoga to Zen Shiatsu. Please read my letter dated February 3, 2000, to my Bishop regarding the Catholic Health Association of India (CHAI). The Catholic Church is being subverted from within, and we should be greatly concerned.

I have visited Holistic Healing Centres in Pune and Chennai directed by nuns who are conducting courses on these New Age therapies 365 days in the year. My report to the CBCI is under preparation. Would you be interested in getting a copy of it, Father Augustine?

Till today, not one single priest (with the exception of Fr. James Manjackal MSFS under whom I attended Fr. Rebello’s School of Evangelization in Mangalore, 1997-1998, and Fr. I. Solomon Raj SJ, my parish priest and spiritual director) has responded supportively. Will you?

Dear Brother in Jesus Christ,

To start with I would like to thank you very much for the tremendous support and encouragement that you had given me during my discussions with you in your room on February 8 and again when I was in distress on the 15^th of the same month (because of the incident with Fr. Vallooran).

Your appreciation of my research and findings on Alternative Medicine has gone a long way in spurring me into more vigorous efforts in my lonely crusade against the great and unperceived dangers to the Church. It was very heartening to hear both you and brother Fritz Mascarenhas speak out against the practice by Christians of these New Age therapies and Eastern meditations at the Intensive Spiritual Refresher Course immediately after my discussions with you both. In fact, Fritz’s words of praise for my work, made in your presence, gave an additional boost to my resolve not to give up despite the almost total lack of response from those who are in the best position to use it.

I am sure that you will be happy to learn that Fritz has accepted my application to join the International Catholic Programme for Evangelization School in Bangalore, of which he is the Director, from July 15 to October 15.

On the 8^th of February I had given you a letter dated 22.01.2000 addressed to Fr. Augustine Vallooran along with several enclosures pertaining to Reiki and Pranic Healing. I also submitted to him, through you, three copies of my article no. I on New Age Alternative Medicine. Now I am pleased to enclose herewith a copy of my article no. II along with photocopies of my letter to Fr. Augustine Mundackatt and to Fr. Mathew Naickomparambil dated 14 and 17 June respectively.

These two letters refer to two articles that were published in recent issues of Vachanotsavam magazine. One of the topics is Vipassana, the other is Yoga. Both the Vatican as well as the New Covenant magazine which is the voice of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in the Church have issued warnings against the dangers of the practice of Yoga by Christians. These are include in my article on Yoga which I will be sending you shortly.

Regarding the incident about which Fr. Augustine Vallooran questioned me, you will find that one part of it (relating to the counselor Paul) is referred to in my letter to Fr. Augustine Mundackatt as I found it necessary to do so. I did not mention Fr. Vallooran as you can see.

I now feel it necessary to send you the record of the incident with preacher Bro. Aravindaksha Menon. My statement about the meeting with Paul in my room was signed by all my five roommates. This one was signed by two. It reads:

On the 16^th February, at around 8:45 AM I had just entered the ground floor lobby of the main building and I was saying hello to one of the volunteers named R. Fuller. At that time, Jeswin Paul (Aravindaksha Menon) who is a senior preacher in the Centre, came to me and asked me about Dr. Paul Ganesh Iyer who was expelled from the Centre last May/June. I reminded him that I had warned him (Menon) and others three years ago that Iyer was a fraud but no one had taken me seriously and now he was doing great damage to the image of the Centre and the Church in Madras.

I also said that I had been trying to share with them all my findings about Reiki and Pranic Healing from the time of the Bible College in July-August 1999 but no one was interested. I had specifically approached Menon then but he had evinced no interest. Then, Menon in the presence of the volunteer said that one Fr. Jose Jacob (not a Vincentian but a priest who was troubling his Bishop and so was sent to stay at the Centre) is practising Reiki and Pranic Healing as well as Hypnotism. He said that Fr. Jose Jacob was residing in the Malayalam section, and the Fathers here (pointing to the rooms of the priests upstairs on the first floor) are not doing anything about it. The volunteer R. Fuller heard the entire sharing of Aravindaksha Menon. Looking at the volunteer, I once again asked Menon to repeat the name of the priest who is practising Reiki, etc., and he sad “Fr. Jose Jacob”.

The above information was again confirmed separately in my presence by R. Fuller to the two witnesses, my roommates in no. 18 in the New Block for three weeks at the Evangelization retreat and Spiritual Refresher Course February 7-25, 2000, who have signed my statement. His name may be shared in confidentiality.

The reason for the signed statement is that at the time of writing it, I had come to learn that Menon had denied saying any of the above-mentioned things to me. Praise the Lord. Dated February 20, 2000

You are aware that I left the Centre one day earlier in order to be able to attend the retreat of Jose Anathanam at Dhyana Ashram in Madras. I gave him copies of my work. He too preaches strongly against the spiritual practices like yoga, Reiki, Pranic Healing, etc.

Shortly thereafter, I spent 20 days in Mumbai and 4 days in Pune meeting leaders of prayer groups with my findings. Every one of them welcomed my work. In fact, a few days after my meeting with bro. Trevor Lewis, I had the opportunity of hearing him preach at an outreach in Thane and it was wonderful to hear him calling to repentance those in the gathering who were involved in practising Pranic Healing and Reiki.

I also met former ICCRS chairperson Fr. Fio Mascarenhas SJ. His encouraging letter to me is attached herewith.

The cancer of Eastern meditations and holistic healing has spread deep and wide into the Church. Even the late Orthodox Church Bishop Dr. Paulos Mar Gregorios was into ALL of the afore-mentioned practices, and more. He even wrote a book on the subject.

Many Catholic bishops and Cardinals have endorsed Yoga, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) etc. and some have trained themselves in them or have written glowing tributes to Catholic priest propagators in Forewords to their publications. I am presenting these evidences in forthcoming articles.

Thousands come to Divine Retreat Centre every week. The interpretation of the Bible and the Catholic doctrine and the guidelines to true Christian living that are preached there are imbibed by Catholics who are unable to get such information anywhere else. The Centre has the platform to reach the widest possible Catholic audience. It is my opinion that one talk on spiritual warfare, the occult and New Age is a must at every retreat. The issues of superstition, astrology, paying homage to Hindu gods, wearing of wristbands, etc. are usually addressed in the talk on sin given by C.K. Joseph. But emphasis must be made on the new and modern dangers such as the ones that I am writing about.

You may not be surprised to know that at both the Bible College and the Spiritual Refresher Course that I attended, there were many practitioners of Reiki and Pranic Healing among the laity and especially the nuns. After Fritz Mascarenhas spoke in condemnation of those evils, I overheard priests in the dining hall criticizing him and his stand. I spoke to a couple of them but to no avail. Recently, Vipassana training was imposed on the unwilling novices of the Pius X seminary in Mumbai.

I am writing all this to you because I believe that you are a prophet. I have met all the charismatic lay leaders in India in my eighteen year walk with the Lord. You are one man who is simple, sincere and uncompromising. I believe that you can do what needs to be done. May Our Lord guide your way.

Here is my letter to Fr. Mathew Naickomparambil VC, founder of the Potta Ashram:

Dear Reverend Father Mathew Naickomparambil,

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Michael Prabhu presently living in Chennai. I was in part-time ministry for ten years in Delhi during which time I first attended retreats preached by you and your team in Malayalam at Shahdara and Noida in 1990/91. I am now in full time ministry since 7 years during which period I have attended several retreats at the Divine Retreat Centre as well as your Centre’s outreaches in other cities. I have also been privileged to attend your counselors’ training (Pentecost Blaze), your first Bible College, and other special programmes.

I have enclosed herewith a copy of my letter to Fr. Augustine Mundackatt VC dated June 14, 2000, as well as a copy of my letter to the editor, Vachanotsavam magazine, both of which are self-explanatory.

I have almost completed my study and am finishing articles on the subjects of Yoga and Vipassana explaining why Catholics may not practise them.

Meanwhile I am pleased to take the liberty of enclosing herewith two of my articles dealing with the New Age alternative medicines like Reiki and Pranic Healing. I have done nearly two years of research on these and other therapies and possess a lot of information which I believe is yet unknown to the Church authorities in India. I circulate my findings free of cost to Catholics on a personal basis. I have sent copies of them to Catholic magazines including your Divine Voice but they were not published.

I have met my Bishop Most Rev. Dr. Lawrence Pius Dorairaj several times and he has taken all my papers in the form of letters to him with enclosures but he too remains silent. I have also reached one set to the Bishop of Mangalore. One such set is enclosed herewith for you. Please see Fr. Fio Mascarenhas’ letter to me. I am confident that you will do the needful.

Here is my letter (edited) to the singing duo Glen and Teresa La’Rive, praise and worship leaders:

Dearest Glen (and Teresa),

I want to bring you up-to-date with what has been happening in my life and in my ministry since our last meetings during the three weeks in Divine Retreat Centre at the Evangelization Retreat and Intensive Spiritual Refresher Course for Priests, Religious and Lay persons in fulltime ministry. […]

You will recall the incident with Fr. Augustine Vallooran that took place in the dining hall on February 15 when I was not given a proper hearing and was wrongly accused.

Because of certain articles appearing in Vachanotsavam, it has become necessary for me to write to Frs. Augustine Mundackatt and Mathew Naickomparambil and also to Advocate A.M. Mathew (copies enclosed here for you).

It became imperative also that I write to others like bro. C.K. Joseph and inform all concerned about the February 15 incident and in regard to what bro. Jeswin Paul (Aravindaksha Menon) told me, as well as what happened in my room with counselor Paul.

Read the enclosed article written by Pamela Mehta that was carried in the February 2000 issue of Nitya Aradhana, the magazine published by Fr. Jose Vettiyankal VC from the Vincentian Ashram, Chembur, Mumbai. I have already given you copies of articles from the Divine Voice, etc. written by lay persons against Yoga, Vipassana, etc. Isn’t it strange then that Vachanotsavam, another Vincentian publication, carries articles giving these practices a favourable reference?

Also refer to one article which I have given you from the Divine Bible College Souvenir 1999, page 12. Please correct the name of the author from Britto Fernandes to read as D. Charles who is the brother-in-law of the Bishop of Madras-Mylapore Most Rev. Lawrence Pius Dorairaj. In that article, Mr. Charles too has condemned Pranic Healing, Reiki, T.M. Yoga, etc.

Both bro. Fritz Mascarenhas and Advocate A.M. Mathew had the courage during the Refresher Course to warn participants not to practice the above-named Eastern meditations and alternative therapies.

But no priest at Divine Retreat Centre has as yet said a single word of condemnation against these practices.

On their return to Chennai, some retreatants brief me about the happenings at the Centre. I am very pleased to hear that you now and then mention Reiki as an occult therapy in your talk, Glen. But it’s not enough. People tell me, “He didn’t mention Pranic Healing or … …” or that you didn’t say anything at all. When I asked you about it, you said you would speak only if the Holy Spirit guides you to. But, Glen, He wants you to. There is no one else who will do so to the thousands who come week after week and who need to be enlightened about these things. For many, it might be the only or last chance to break free from deception and bondage to the occult and New Age, and to confess and be saved. What are you waiting for?

I appeal to you to speak out in every single talk that you give.

I believe that in the retreats at the Centre there should be one talk on the occult and New Age because of the high level of their occurrence in the institutionalized Church. […]

After the incident with Fr. Vallooran, Glen and Teresa met me at the rear of the hall during one of the sessions, consoled me, and gave me a 100 rupee note in solidarity with my ministry. 100 rupees went a long way in the year 2000 and it was one of the first ever tithes that I received!

On June 20, 2000, I wrote a one-page letter on the same lines as all the above others to Fr. Mathew Elavunckal, the Director of the Tabor Divine Retreat Ashram in Kalyan, Mumbai, whom I had met there during my visit on March 21, 2000, and enclosed some of my articles.

Here is my letter to Fr. Joseph Ayyankolil VC, the Director of Arulalayam, Vincentian Ashram, Chennai:

19 June 2000

Dear Fr. Joseph,

I was very pleased to receive your kind letter dated 5^th June inviting me to join the next get-together on 25^th June of those who had completed the Divine Bible College (first batch) at Muringoor. God-willing, I will be there.

I had written to you that I would not be able to attend two earlier meetings at Arulalayam because I was attending the Spiritual Refresher Course at Muringoor for three weeks in February, and had again been away for three weeks to Mumbai and Pune in March.

On the 23^rd of January, during my last meeting with you and our group, I had shared with all about my research and my findings on Pranic Healing.

I was apprehensive about your reaction since it was not one of the regular matters on our agenda and I had also not discussed it with you earlier. I was delighted when you allowed me to complete my presentation. And I was delighted when you later accepted a copy of my set of letters to my Bishop Lawrence Pius Dorairaj and told me that I was doing a very important ministry for the good of the Church. […]

You will recall that one of our group, Alexander, (Bible College, Malayalam, 5^th batch) confessed that he was a trained Pranic Healer. One of our group, James, from the 1^st batch, told me that he too is into this therapy. That makes two persons from our little group of twenty. This is evidence of how many of our charismatic Catholics are compromised.

Even at the Bible, at the Refresher Course for Priests, Religious and Laity, etc., and in every single prayer group that I’ve been to and made enquiries, I have found from 5 to 25% of their members tainted by these occult practices.

I am enclosing additional information which I am sure you will find useful. There is also the report on the Pranic Healing Convention held at Good Shepherd School, Chennai, the very same day we met and when you had blessed Stella, Alice, my wife Angela and me and sent us out there to do our ministry (of distributing my papers to the participants).

There is a Holistic Healing Centre in Mogappier, very near to your Centre, founded and headed since the last 15 years by Sr. Muriel Fernandez ICM. She runs courses on Pranic Healing, Reiki and a host of other New Age alternative therapies.

Sadly, I have to report that this good priest left the Vincentian Congregation and the Church and serves at the “church” of the Emperor Emmanuel cult in Muriyad which is but just a few kilometres down the road from the Divine Retreat Centre, Muringoor and the Potta Ashram which are run by his former confreres. He is not even permitted to preach here as all talks are given only by the cult founder Joseph Ponnara to the retreatants who come there every week. He is allowed to offer a parody of the “Mass” but with no homily.

Here is my letter to Mr. C.K. Joseph, head of the team of counselors at the Divine Retreat Centre, Muringoor:

Dear brother Joseph,

My name is Michael Prabhu. My walk with the Lord commenced in 1982 when I abandoned my assumed Hindu identity, reaffirmed my lapsed Catholic faith, and entered part-time ministry planting prayer groups and organizing the formation of the first Delhi Service Team of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. Since 1995, I am in full-time ministry in Chennai. On the basis of my 18 years in ministry I can write to you because you always inform us of your 20 years standing in the Renewal. Still, my letter is written to you in humility and as a brother in Jesus Christ because I believe that there are things that you need to be made aware of.

I attended retreats in Malayalam preached by the Potta Fathers in the Delhi region ten years ago and organized people to reach the two centres in my car. We also organized many retreats in Delhi, two of which were preached by your Advocate A.M. Mathew about 15 years ago. I have studied the Word of God in Delhi under bro. Terence Fonn of Mumbai, and gone to Evangelization School in Mangalore under the later Fr. Francis Rebello SJ and Fr. James Manjackal MSFS. I trained as a counselor under Fr. George Jacob Poothakuzhy at the Renewal Retreat Centre in Bangalore and again at Pentecost Blaze at the Divine Retreat Centre where I also attended the first batch of the Bible College (English). It was also my privilege to attend the three months International Catholic Programme for Evangelization in Bangalore in the year 2000. Besides preaching the Word of God, I do one-on-one ministry in Catholic apologetics.

During the Evangelization cum Intensive Spiritual Refresher Course for Priests, Religious and Lay Persons in Ministry, February 6 to 25, 2000 in Divine Retreat Centre I was led by the Lord to ask you for some of your valuable time. I have always greatly appreciated you powerful talks on “sin” and the Ten Commandments, and had a high regard for your sincerity. I tried to tell you about my background and the reason for my wanting to talk with you. However, you were most unfriendly, brusque, discourteous, rude, and even arrogant. You did not even slow down your hurried walk away from the main hall and I had to keep running to keep pace with you. You thought that I was one of the participants in the regular initiation retreat and I tried my best to tell you that I was not. Finally, all I could get from you was a curt “meet me tomorrow, 11 o’clock, after the talk”. I did not think that I could do so as I was attending the growth retreat which has a different timetable but the following day there you were, passing me near the Divine Youth building.

When I interrupted you in your hurried walk, I found that you had already forgotten me and your insincere appointment.

This time when I attempted to explain my reasons for wanting to meet with you, you asked me why I was attending the growth retreat which you said was meant for priests only and you instructed me to “leave that side” and “come this side” and attend the regular initiation retreat.

It is strange that you as a lay person who is now an eminent preacher is so proud and self-conceited and treat other lay persons so shabbily without even knowing who you might be talking to. There are many, many lay people attending initiation retreats repeatedly to gain a deeper spiritual experience. These persons are tremendous evangelizers and soul-winners back in their home towns, but they come and sit with humility in the assembly at the Centre and go back unknown and unrecognized.

But the tendency for many preachers at the Centre is to put all retreatants into one category – that of spiritual beggars.

You yourself can take a look at the long, unsmiling faces (until a woman asks them for counseling) of the majority of the preachers when they come off stage, and you will understand what I mean. You are there, brother Joseph, to SERVE the people of the Lord, not to lord it over them.

This letter may hurt your feelings, but if taken in the right spirit, it will do you much good. […] You are the head of the team of counsellors. I had wanted to present you with my findings on Pranic Healing and Reiki healing. In attendance every week at the Centre, there are scores of people who have trained in or teach these occult practices back home. Your counselor Paul is a trained Master Pranic Healer. I know that other counselors in your team have recommended these New Age therapies to retreatants. Your counselors need to be educated on these matters. I had long back suggested this to your Director, Fr. Augustine Vallooran, but he too had dismissed me very curtly.

I have handed over a lot of information to Glen and Teresa La’Rive and to Advocate Mathew.

For the third time in two years, the Potta Ashram’s Vachanotsavam magazine promotes New Age.

The errors were in the November 2001 issue in article titled “Is prayer really effective?” by Dr. Fr. George Arackal VC.

Here is my letter to the editor of Vachanotsavam under copy to Fr. Augustine Vallooran, etc.:

Dear Reverend Fathers,

I was terribly shocked to read the article “Is prayer really effective?” by Dr. Fr. George Arackal VC in your Vachanotsavam issue of November 2001, a copy of which was mailed to me by a friend from Bangalore who is as shell-shocked as I am.

He wrote to me: “Apparently the author finds nothing diabolical in Pranic Healing and attributes such healing to the release of some psychic powers from the human body. He also maintains that retreat centres employ some psychological methods to get people to pray, which releases psychic energy. Is he then for or against Pranic Healing? Does he attribute healings at retreat centres to be partly due to this mysterious power? Having made a study of such matters, you will be the best person to refute these views if they are as patently wrong as they appear to be.”

Even an ordinary lay person has been able to discern the serious errors in the article. It is quite unbelievable that such an article was written by a Catholic priest. Even more amazing is that Fr. George Arackal is of the Vincentian Congregation who run the Potta Ashram and Divine Retreat Centres across India. Even if this particular priest is himself deceived, how does one explain that the article escaped scrutiny by so many supposedly Spirit-filled persons on the staff of Vachanotsavam?

It only underlines the ignorance of what is good and what is evil of those who saw it and allowed its printing.

And this is not the first time that it has happened with you.

Please read my letters of June 2000 (copies enclosed) to Rev. Frs. Augustine Mundackatt and Mathew Naickomparambil concerning the article “On the Road with the Lord” in the June 2000 issue of Vachanotsavam, written by Br. Joseph Michael FSC of Sri Lanka wherein he mentions that he taught the Buddhist meditation Vipassana to Catholic students in the De La Salle brothers’ chapel. He is also a trained Pranic Healer, etc.

I have also written to you on April 25, 2000 (copy enclosed) when in your April 2000 issue you published that a Cardinal of the Church founded a Yoga centre and died in it. I did not receive a response either from you or from any of the other authorities in the Centre. Because of your errors and lack of response, I cancelled my subscription to your magazine.

I have done much research and written several articles on Eastern meditation systems like Zen and Yoga, and New Age alternative medicines such as Pranic Healing and Reiki. They have been given personally or posted to many senior preachers at Divine Retreat Centre.

Your counselor Paul is a certified Pranic Healer and Reiki Master. Jolly Sebastian, the in-charge of the Drug Rehabilitation Centre in 1998 was a Level 2 Master Reiki Healer. The German Johannes Michael Rix who was in the Intercession Ministry, Gethsemane, under Sr. Mareena was a Level I master Reiki Healer. The last two named individuals have surrendered to me their course materials as well as their original certificates. If I as a visitor could find out these three persons, there surely must be more, many more. In fact, when I was attending the Evangelisation Retreat and Intensive Spiritual Refresher Course conducted at Divine Retreat Centre (DRC) February 7-25, 2000. I was asked by Fr. Augustine Vallooran to leave the Divine Retreat Centre for “telling lies” about the DRC which relates to my discussing my findings with others like Fr. Rufus Pereira of the International Association of Exorcists and his colleague, the Secretary of the AIE and the International Association for Deliverance (IAD), Erika Gibello, in the priests’ dining hall. I have submissible written and printed proof about the earlier names three persons.

On February 16, 2000, your preacher Mr. Aravindaksha Menon informed me in the presence of a volunteer named R. Fuller that one Fr. Jose Jacob (not a Vincentian but a priest who was troubling his Bishop and so was sent to stay at the Centre) was practising Reiki and Pranic Healing as well as Hypnotism. He was residing in the Malayalam section.

Dr. Fr. George Arackal VC may well be a trained Master in either Reiki or Pranic Healing, or like counselor Paul, in both.

His entire article contains words, phrases, ideas and philosophies that are common to New Age alternative therapies and Holistic Healing systems. He may be into Yoga or Vipassana or Zen oriental (Chinese or Hindu) meditation systems. In any case, I have to say that the priest is greatly deceived. I do not want to quote Scripture passages to show where in his article he has erred. Anyone with the least amount of discernment can see that.

I want to draw your attention to a very important point: Fr. Arackal, unlike as is the custom in articles in Vachanotsavam, did not use a single verse from the Bible in his article. People who believe in New Age stuff and practise them never do.

Are not the words of Jesus very true in the case of Fr. Arackal: “Are you not misled because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.”? (Mark 12:24)

Is Fr. Arackal trying to say rhetorically through the title of his article IIs Prayer really effective?” that it is not prayer that heals the retreatants at Divine Retreat Centre and elsewhere. In fact, one gathers from his article that it is the Self, or one’s mind, or mental concentration, or mass hysteria or group dynamics, or psychological manipulation through the use of repeated chanting (such as “Praise the Lord”, “Hallelujah”…) accompanied by the loud-volume music, that heals! Even the “atmosphere of hypnotism” that he mentions? He is certainly writing derogatorily about you all, his charismatic confreres, and yet you have published his article in your magazine.

Note also, that although a priest, he does not once talk to the three youths in the train about Jesus.

After coming regularly to your Centre for nearly seven years, I estimate that at least one person in ten at your retreats is involved in New Age occult. Former chairpersons of the Charismatic Renewal Fr. Fio Mascarenhas SJ and Fr. A.J. Thamburaj SJ bring the Hindu “OM” “under the lordship of Jesus”, recommend “Christian Yoga” and are silent on whether Pranic Healing, Reiki, Yoga, etc. are occult or not.

Will you at least break the deafening silence and speak the truth before more souls are deceived and lost?

The very people that hundreds of thousands of retreats are flocking to for enlightenment and deliverance are themselves in bondage to every form of evil.

I did receive response from both the editor of Vachanotsavam as well as Fr. Vallooran.

I had promised in my previous reports to provide photographs and documentation to support my claims about the Divine Retreat Centre. Muringoor. I have done so in the previous report (04) and continue here.

Above is Hans Michael Rix, Intercession Ministry, who surrendered his original Reiki Master’s certificate and other reiki materials (below) to me.

Jolly Sebastian

Trained Bible teacher and evangelist, yoga master and reiki healer, Jolly Sebastian headed the rehabilitation centre for drug attacks and alcoholics at DRC, Muringoor, even though he was unqualified to do so.

All three were summarily dismissed/asked to leave the Divine Retreat Centre; the reasons were never known. John Paul served for exactly 5 years almost to the week he joined. He turned Pentecostal preacher.

George, in-charge of religious articles stall, was caught stealing money and evicted January 8, 1999. Pinheiro too was asked to go for reasons unknown. Vinoo Philip was delivering a falsified testimony at the married couples’ programme. He had to go when he reverted to being an alcoholic and his wife and son Raunaq separated from him a second time. Volunteer Binoy committed suicide in October 1998.

A note to those who disapprove of our ministry

A NOTE TO THOSE WHO DISLIKE US

First of all I want to make an appeal for clarity and honesty. Do not read this with your emotions, but with your mind. Lack of emotional control is a major contributor to the state of the world and the Church today. No matter what you have been told, feelings are not as important as truth. Truth may make us joyful or sad, it may elicit all kinds of emotional reaction, but it remains truth and so it defines reality. When a person cannot deal with the truth, they cannot deal with reality and that is a pretty good working definition of insanity.

When that occurs on a grand scale in a society or a church then truth and reality are lost and emotions and appearances (political correctness) take their place and then the inmates are truly running the asylum! It would be instructive to look at a few common and well-worn ways in which people avoid the truth.

“Shoot the messenger”! The prophets were well acquainted with this one. The incredible absurdity of believing “If I don’t see it – it isn’t there! If I can get rid of those people who tell me what I don’t want to hear then what I don’t want to hear doesn’t exist and will have no power to harm me”! This approach to discerning reality may be tested rather easily.

Go to the roof of a very tall building. You may find a sign there which warns you about walking too close to the edge, but you don’t want to hear that so you tear the sign down. Then you step boldly off the roof and out into space because you have ignored the message and destroyed the messenger and so gravity is no longer a threat. This exercise will provide an experience of profound, if brief, enlightenment!

The next two techniques are clever because they allow you to take the moral high ground. They involve (mis)quoting the Bible and are much more impressive if delivered in stentorian tones with one’s finger pointing skyward. “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone!” Now remember Jesus said this to men who were about to commit MURDER! The problem

Jesus was addressing was not in the “judgment”, but in the “execution”. As this passage is foolishly interpreted, it would follow that Moses was wrong before Pharaoh, John the Baptist was wrong before Herod and Jonah should have stayed away from Nineveh. Since the Bible declares that “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God!” It would follow that no one could correct, confront, or call anyone to repentance.

So Jesus command to the young Church to “preach repentance from sin to the whole world beginning at Jerusalem.” must NOT be followed!

The other well-worn tool of the uselessly pious is; “Judge not, lest ye be so judged!” Again, the meaning here is “do not condemn”. Only God has the right to condemn, but it may certainly be necessary to reveal the sin as part of the call to repentance, and to make common-sense judgments for the conversion of the sinner and the protection of the innocent.

Does “Do not judge” mean you would let your son go to dinner at Jeffrey Dahmers or your daughter go out on a date with Ted Bundy or would you invite your family in to have a glass of Kool-Aid with Jim Jones? St. Thomas Aquinas wrote powerfully about occasions when Priests, and Bishops and even Popes must be confronted, (As St. Paul did to St. Peter) and that these confrontations were not just acceptable, but demanded by charity. In fact, to avoid them could be a grave sin of omission.

Now we have prepared ourselves to deal with the truth. Now we have to confront a deeper and more difficult question. Is it really necessary to make these awful things public? THE CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH (2nd edition) says:

The right to the communication of the truth is not unconditional. Everyone must conform his life to the Gospel precept of fraternal love. This requires us in concrete situations to judge whether or not it is appropriate to reveal the truth to someone who asks for it. (Paragraph 2488)

So the possession of truth brings with it the responsibility of choosing what to do with it and love is the highest criteria for that choice. The Catechism continues:

Charity and respect for the truth should dictate the response to every request for information or communication. The good and safety of others, respect for privacy, and the common good are sufficient reasons for being silent about what ought not to be known or for making use of a discreet language. The duty to avoid scandal often commands strict discretion.

No one is bound to reveal the truth to someone who does not have the right to know it. (Paragraph 2489)

In other words, truth without love can be a brutal and terrible thing. Love and Truth must never be separated and so the only acceptable reason to reveal scandalous and painful realities is that it is an act of love.

First – love for the innocent! Stop for a moment and consider the many children who have been abused. Their bodies, souls, and faith destroyed by predators and perverts hiding behind collars and habits and protected by some bishops. Children are so vulnerable and they have had their innocence ripped away by those who are more concerned with protecting themselves and their “image” than anything else. There is a sickness and an evil here that none of us want to deal with. Only the love of the innocent will give us courage!

Second – love for the guilty! We are human and we are angry, but Jesus said “Hate the sin but love the sinner!” Those who are sick need help and those who have chosen evil need conversion because their souls also are of infinite value and it was their sins also that were nailed to the Cross. The first step in a conversion is the virtue of humility. That virtue can be painful to attain. Who truly loves the sinner? The one who enables them by action or omission to destroy themselves and others in eternal Hell or the one who loves them enough to call them to repentance? Remember the terrible things Jesus said about those who would harm His “little ones”. “Better that a millstone were tied around their neck and they were cast in the deepest part of the sea”, “Better had they never been born!” Is it not Christ-like love to call such people to conversion?

Third – love for the Church! Someone said once; “The first sign of a bankrupt spirituality is a disordered sexuality!” The Church is in Crisis and we don’t just need priests, we need priests after the mind and heart of Jesus Christ. Those who have chosen a path which is not in obedience and submission to the will of God and his Church will either have to teach falsely to justify themselves or commit grievous sins of omission by not teaching the truth that would bring self-condemnation. The sins of the shepherd always, by commission or omission, hurt the sheep!

Everything that this ministry has done, and will do, has been done out of love. Love for the innocent, the guilty and the Church. We have paid the price and will continue to do so. We believe that we speak the truth in love and that, with God’s Grace, will have an effect.

Embarrassment or even scandal is not the worst thing – HELL is the worst thing!

It may not be politically correct, but we see our task as very simple:

We want to help as many people go to heaven as we can! Sometimes, as we learn from the Cross, that cannot be done without pain. However, pain embraced with Christ-like love becomes transformed! It becomes redemptive and life-giving. When we become “enemies of the Cross” we will then become incapable of following Jesus!

So you may not like what is revealed, but please don’t “shoot the messenger”. The truth is being spoken in love and the result has already been that some conversions have taken place. At least those who prey instead of pray are aware that they are no longer free and protected, and that alone may save one child, and that will be enough!

Clerical sex-abusers and homosexuals: Is it wrong for Catholics to be judgemental?

A FEW BLUNT WORDS TO CATHOLICS

A very, very long time ago a pagan Greek philosopher suggested that 90% of you would not like what I’m about to say, but I do ask you to read it all and I pray that you will consider it honestly. First you must realize that we are living in the most evil of all the ages. Read your newspaper. I will take only one example – abortion. We have killed more children than any people in history, and no one else is even in the ballpark! Hitler, Stalin and the other monsters of history must peek through the flames of Hell and gaze in awe and professional admiration at the level of our barbarity. We have found a way to kill children and vote for those who protect the abortionist and we still go to Church on Sunday. We can read from the Bible about the terrible things God said about those who would harm His “little ones” and never connect those words to our own final judgment. I remember being horrified when I read in school about the Aztec Indians throwing children alive into the fire as a sacrifice to their god. How barbaric! But count the numbers. What is the output of the abortion clinics in this country each day? Who are the barbarians? Who are the monsters? At least the Aztecs will have the excuse that they thought they were serving God. What excuse will we have?

As followers of Christ and members of His Church we must stand in opposition to evil! There is a very real conflict, a “spiritual warfare” that the followers of Jesus are called to take up. This is revealed with crystalline clarity in all forms of revelation. God calls His followers to reject the ways of this world and follow him. This warfare is not for the weak or the faint of heart, and many are simply not capable. St. Thomas Aquinas said, “Grace builds on Nature.” That is why the Israelites spent 40 years in the desert. A generation of slaves with a slave’s mentality had to die off and a new people, strong and toughened by the harsh life of the desert had to rise up.

Most Catholics today seem to be like those slaves. They are simply not capable of dealing with the truth. And the truth is that the evil that is everywhere in this world is also deep within the Church. Pope Leo the XIII noticed it and composed the “Prayer to St. Michael”. Pope Paul VI proclaimed that the “Smoke of Satan has entered the sanctuary”! Throughout the history of the Church it has always been those who are within that have caused the most damage. Remember that Judas was a bishop and nearly all the heresies that have ravaged the Church throughout history have come from priests and bishops. In an earlier age we were better equipped to deal with this evil and protect the truth. No less a Saint than St. John Chrysostom said, “The floor of hell is paved with the skulls of bishops!”

This evil has festered and grown because it has been promoted and protected by a false spirituality with its roots in the “spirit of Vatican II“. An astounding and diabolical pride has allowed us to turn away from the spiritual values that have made saints for 2000 years to embrace a false theology promoted by a false church and presenting a false god. This new god simply blesses whatever our desires, passions, and appetites crave. This god wants us to be happy and such things as sacrifice; penance and self-discipline are non-values. This is the god of the “group hug”, “we are the church”, and if you complain – “Don’t be judgmental“. This “god” is a god of love, but not the burning self-sacrificing love we see on the cross, but a phony and sick imitation, a daytime TV talk show morality, which is preached from too many pulpits and is fooling “even the elect”! It’s a god for slaves and enslavement. It has found a home deep in the heart of the Church and the Church seems incapable of dealing with it!

If we wish to survive these days with our faith intact we should learn the lessons of history. We live in a time when the laity must rise up to save the true Church. This is very difficult because we are coming out of an age when the laity looked to the hierarchy for guidance. But as it was in the time of King Henry the VIII, you may follow your pastor or even your bishop and as a result find yourself outside the true Church. This is not an age that will suffer weak faith. Soon there will only be two kinds of Catholics – strong Catholics and ex-Catholics.

Leave “political correctness” to the false church. It’s time for a little plain speech. It’s time for a little truth! There are many homosexuals in the priesthood and in the hierarchy.

Many of these are not living celibate lives, and they prey on others. They do not preach the truth of Jesus Christ because they could not do so without condemning themselves. They are in positions of authority in Chancery Offices and seek to add to their numbers by controlling vocations. They organize into “support groups” many of which are not oriented toward celibacy, but exist to provide “contacts” for sexual relationships. Priests are dying of AIDS at an alarming rate and some have even blamed the Church for not teaching them about “safe” sex in the seminary! (How safe can “safe” sex be, when Hell is the result!)? The Church has not shown any desire or ability to deal with this. Recently the Vatican told a priest and a nun to stop giving workshops across the country promoting the homosexual lifestyle. That’s nice. But they have been giving these workshops for 20 long years!! How many souls have been lost and lives destroyed while the hierarchy did nothing! Maybe your newspaper today will carry the story about another multi-million dollar lawsuit involving a pedophile priest. The judgments are so high because juries are learning that bishops knew who the pedophiles were and allowed them to continue to destroy children. Bishops protected the pervert and provided innocent victims for him to prey upon. Bishops even hide perverts by trading them from diocese to diocese like baseball players! (You take mine, and I’ll take yours.) Parents and good priests approach Church authorities with accusations and are ignored or referred to an inept committee. The goal of those in authority is simply damage control and covering it up. Recently I met with a very well-known priest who was sent to represent the hierarchy in a terrible case of sexual abuse. His primary concern seemed to be to avoid publicity. I told him we would consider his request if he would answer two simple questions. First – Would he give me just one example of the Church intervening on its own to stop that particular form of abuse? – He didn’t answer. Second – If we backed away and did not make this public and as a result of our choice another innocent person was attacked, would God hold us responsible for that terrible sin? He didn’t answer that question either. It seems that the operative spirituality of the Church has become so weak that it is no longer capable of dealing with evil. It is a fact that authorities in the Church have allowed innocent lives to be destroyed and then have covered up the crime and protected the criminal! This has been done with the thinly veiled excuse that “we must protect holy mother church from scandal”! The tragic truth is this publicity and large lawsuits have done much more to protect the innocent than the Vatican, the National Council of Catholic Bishops or the Apostolic Delegate combined!

And (with apologies to Vince Lombardi) the protection of the innocent is not the most important thing; it’s the only thing! If it is necessary to protect one innocent child then I pray that every diocese in the country will be sued for every nickel it has and every sordid detail be put on the front page of every newspaper! The Church that I love and that Jesus promised would last until the end of the world is a Church that doesn’t want to appear holy, it must be holy!

Allow me to return to that Greek philosopher and the 90%. Heraclitus was a philosopher and a warrior. During a lull in the battle he wrote a letter to the leaders of Athens regarding the soldiers he was receiving as replacements. He said that for every 100 men they sent 90 were useless. They were little more than battlefield clutter. Out of the 100, about 10 were fighters and the outcome of the battle rested on their shoulders. And maybe one, only one, was a true warrior. The spiritual warfare is no less warfare, and I believe the percentages apply. The vast majority doesn’t want to know the truth. They just want things to be “nice” and the truth and the demands it would place on them as followers of Christ are unacceptable. I appreciate those who pray but if that’s all you do, remember it says in the epistle of St. James that “Faith without works is dead and has no power to save you!” I would ask those 90% to consider joining the warrior class. You are needed! If you cannot – Then at least stay out of the way. The battle is tough enough without clutter. If you cannot fight this Goliath, at least stand back and make room for those who are going forward to sling their stones. The false charity and empty spirituality of those who mouth pious platitudes over the broken bodies and souls of the innocent is an affront to the martyrs and missionaries who gave their lives to share the true faith. I have seen, up close and personal, the heart-rending results of allowing predators to destroy children, families, and faith. A “drawing room” spirituality does not have the power to fight the malignant evil of this age. Delicate sensibilities must be sacrificed and hands dirtied in favor of a cross-centered faith! We are not fighting for principles or philosophies. We are fighting for SOULS and we must not lose!

Convicted pedophile and deportee Dominic Dixon attempts to silence this ministry’s exposés of him – 03

The contents of this web page https://www.dominicdixon.net/falseprophets (EXPOSING FAKE “CATHOLIC APOLOGIST” & FRAUD, Michael Prabhu and his illicit partner & false prophet Francis Sunil Lobo!) of Dominic Dixon has also been seen by me on WhatsApp. It is a feeble attempt by the fake doctorate and jailed pedophile to defend his name and image by maligning me and one of the many individuals, (they include his own relatives), who of their own accord approached me and helped me expose Dixon.

Dixon doesn’t name Bruce Phillipowsky, the U.S. relative whose minor son he sexually molested and for which crime he was expatriated to the US from Canada, jailed in the US and deported from Canada. It is Phillipowsky who provided this ministry with court records. It is Phillipowsky, not us, who wrote to the U.N. and whose response we published categorically denying Dixon’s purported affiliation with the UN*.

His ramblings are truly not worth rebutting point by point as we have already done so WITH DOCUMENTATION in our earlier exposés and reports.

For a claimed several-times-over “doctorate” with multiple Masters degrees, his English continues to be atrocious and pitiable beginning with the headline (“illicit partner”…? “perpetrators in the Catholic Church”?) Dixon cannot produce even a high school leaving certificate leave alone a graduate certificate or that of a Master’s or a Doctorate. He is not only a sexual deviant but also a highly-evolved con artiste.

I repeat that all the logos (U.N., Oxford, Harvard, etc.) used by Dixon are fake; they are sourced from the Internet by Dixon and pasted on his web pages. Ken Gnanakan, a Protestant whose letter Dixon reproduces on the referred web page, is the only real person among those whose letters are published by Dixon in support of him, and that too is in retaliation for my having exposed his (Gnanakan’s) association with Dixon.

On the video at the above-referred web page of Dixon’s, every image shown — our photographs against a newspaper background — is painstakingly arranged and doctored by Dixon to give credibility to his spin. The photograph of me is copy-pasted by him from a file on my own web site.

All of the other testimonials criticizing/condemning me are anonymous. They are written by Dixon. In the past too, he could never furnish a single name of those whom he quoted concerning me.

He talks about taking me to court and filing cases against me. If he was worth taking legal action against (he is reportedly broke), we can do the same on just two of several counts:

-His claim that I faked my own death and that my wife made money (Rs. 11 lakhs) out of it;

-His claim that Francis Sunil Lobo was asked by TCS to resign from his service there because of a cybercrime case filed against him by Dixon.

Lobo was not asked to leave TCS. He simply changed his employer, VERY LONG AFTER Dixon contacted TCS to complain that Lobo was guilty of contributing to “communal disharmony” on https://ephesians511blog.com/, his blog. TCS simply ignored the calls made to them by Dixon.

As for my faking my death on my web site, there isn’t and never was any mention of my death on www.ephesians-511.net which is the link to my web site. If it wasn’t ever there, how could it be modified as Dixon claims. The referred item was posted on the ephesians511 blog on April 1, 2017, and was never modified or edited as Dixon falsely claims. For those who don’t know, the First of April is April Fools’ Day. The original post along with a few readers’ comments still stands as far as I know.

On the above-referred web page Dixon claims that my wife collected “over 11 lakhs” towards my fake funeral expenses (pretty expensive “funeral” that!)

On June 16, on Facebook https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1709903205703613&id=100000518512851, Dixon had written:

As an Exhibit of their vicious schemes, in April of 2017, to collect funds, Michael Prabhu had “FAKED HIS OWN DEATH” and had a post on his website. This post is still on his website titled as “Michael Prabhu passed away due to cardiac arrest, Please pray for him”.

They further stated that his wife is in need of financial assistance.” It is said that they have raised about 21 lakhs through this deceptive scheme.

There neither IS nor ever WAS anything of the sort on MY web site. OR ON THE ephesians511 BLOG!

Note that 21 lakh rupees (in the FB post) has been scaled down to “over 11 lakhs” on the recent web page. I guess that’s ok because 21 lakhs is “over 11 lakhs” for certain.

Another falsehood from the referred web page of Dixon:

BR. CHRISTOPHER (CORREYA) WAS COMMISSIONED AND HAS UNDERGONE AN OFFICIAL TRAINING ON EXORCISM AND DELIVERANCE AT THE VATICAN.

That too is simply not true (and I have dealt with that lie in a previous report, WITH EVIDENCE – a letter to me from the Secretary of the International Association of Deliverance), like all of Dixon’s other claims.

There are a couple of reports on Correya too at our web site.

It is not impossible that Dixon, as he now claims, has been to either Canada or the USA, or both, after his serving time in jail and his deportation as a youth. He is a resourceful criminal and has mastered the art of duplicity over the years, using every possible resource to achieve his goals. Every time that one area of his humbuggery is exposed, his web site is modified. Even a chameleon would envy Dixon’s capacity to adapt.

My web site, by contrast, never undergoes any changes. What goes up stays up.

And, maybe U.S. and Canadian immigration would like to know that Dixon has been visiting!

The name on his passport and in the court/police/immigration records at his arrest and deportation (http://ephesians-511.net/docs/DOMINIC_DIXON_CONVICTED_IN_USA_DEPORTED_FROM_CANADA_FOR_SEXUAL_MOLESTATION_OF_BOY_02.doc) was Dominic FABIAN Dixon. I wonder what he goes as now on his passport.

for more than three minutes. Since I did not plug in my audio jack, I do not know a word of what it says. If it is anything like the stuff that I have debunked above here, or in my previous exposés of Dixon, it is simply not worth any more of my precious time.

Many of his accusations are quite childish – he seems to think a person needs the permission of the diocese to call himself a “Catholic Apologist.”

But he is also making some serious accusations like saying you have faked your death in the past, and that he has been acquitted in some criminal case in Canada that you have written about.
Perhaps you should take up this matter officially at some diocesan level (perhaps some tribunal?) Can you file a case at some diocesan tribunal for being calumniated in spiritual matters and submit to the Archbishop of Chennai and to the bishop of the diocese to which Dr. Dixon belongs a refutation of his attack on you.

One of my friends who read this latest attack by Dixon contacted me over WhatsApp because he knows I am occasionally in touch with you and said, “I don’t believe most of the accusations that Dixon casts on Michael, but this claim of having faked his own death for economic benefit needs to be specifically refuted by Michael else many people will get a wrong impression about him.” It would probably be a good idea to write a separate refutation on your website regarding this particular claim.

The guilty pedophile Dixon swung into action immediately as can be seen in the Canadian court document that we have reproduced on the following five pages. After the last filing and final judgement of June 9, 1998, the next entry, an Application from Dixon is dated March 21, 2017 (19 years later)!

Another entry (Edmonton, Canada) dated March 22, 2017, reads “The Applicant’s request to remove data from the Federal Court website shall not be entertained informally by the Court“.

Dixon’s desperate attempt to have at least some traces of his criminal background expunged from online records through a judicial review failed miserably.

The Ottawa, Canada, court’s final entry, as recently as on August 28, 2017 reads “Despite the Applicant’s remarks regarding the effect of record of deportation order from the Court’s website, the fact remains that there is no evidence that removal of information would remedy the situation or that the appeal stands any hope of success“.

One can see at https://dominicdixon.net/falseprophets that Dixon is in denial about his being convicted and deported for pedophilia; he is now (futilely) attempting to erase past records so that he can make us liars.

He uses euphemistic language but never names exactly what it is that he is accused and guilty of.

And the Canadian Court now addresses and records him as “Doctor” Dixon. What if we told them the truth?

Peering toward the End: A short daydream about my Death

“My Lord and my God, from this moment I accept at Thy hands, with resignation and cheerfulness, the kind of death it may please Thee to send me, with all its pains and anguish.”

Despite the countless daydreams I’ve indulged in throughout my sanguine life, it struck me a few days ago that I have never purposefully daydreamed about my death.

This is odd, because of all potential subjects with which I could daydream up a storm, my death is the one thing in life I can count upon to actually happen to me. As befits the sign of contradiction that is the Catholic Faith, my death will be the defining moment of my life: its summation, its crowning note, for better or for worse – salvation or damnation, forever. Yet, curiously, it has ranked low on my “let’s daydream about this today” list.

And so the premise intrigued me: to daydream about my death.

Echoing the traditional prayer, I embrace whatever death Our Lord has destined for me, down to the tiniest details. With that kept in mind, I recently sat down and wove my first daydream of my death.

Peering toward the end, I would first like to imagine I’m not dying in a hospital. Rather, I’m dying wherever my home is.

I’m lying in a small room, a quiet room, with no electronics but certainly a window. There’s a hand-crocheted blanket at the foot of my bed, and I’m surrounded by a simple arrangement of the holy images I’ve come to hold dear: the Sacred Heart of Jesus; the Sorrowful Heart of Mary; St. Joseph; St. Anthony; St. Raphael; a Madonna and Child, especially “The Song of the Angels”; St. Faustina. Perhaps most important of all, Our Lady of the Rosary, since it was on her feast that I first totally consecrated myself in St. Louis de Montfort’s method.

I don’t know exactly what my sufferings will be, but, reflexively, I include pain in this daydream. Most likely, it is the worst pain of my life, but it is also a consolation, because I know that Our Lord is bestowing on me the gift of suffering that purifies my love for Him. It isn’t a pain that robs me of peace, but rather, it is a channel of grace and final charity to my soul.

The room in which I’m lying is very still. However, through the walls, I can catch the muffled sounds of children playing and of dishes clattering; footsteps, maybe a slightly stumbling piano practice. These familiar household sounds remind me that while my approaching death is the most intense and perilous moment of my life, I’m just a grain of sand in God’s universe, and that time and the people within it will carry on without my physical presence for as long as He sees fit. I’m passing out of time; I am not the center of it, nor ever was.

This thought is overwhelming – a mystery I can’t even begin to touch, and one that frightens me more than a little but is nevertheless true and unavoidable. I am leaving time and entering eternity. I am on the brink.

As I lie dying, surrounding me in the room are a handful of persons softly murmuring the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary in Latin (because I will die a stickler for Latin, and they will lovingly accommodate my wishes in hora mortis). In the present moment of daydreaming about this, I’m not sure who they are, though I see them as my family, either by blood or because we are members of the same Church Militant. Are they my future husband, future children, future grandchildren? Parish friends? Sisters in Christ whose babies I’ve held, tears I’ve dried, and with whom I’ve traded many a phone call over the hectic cacophony and quiet stillness of the unfolded tale of my life? Or are they strangers?

Naturally, the presence of my future husband enters my consideration here. But I’m not sure. Is he here, praying for and with me, holding my hand with the unwavering softness and steadiness that comes from a lifetime of knowing, loving, and forgiving me in the Sacrament of Marriage…or am I without his physical presence? Have I already helped him in his own death, and am I now suffering mine alone?

If I must choose this detail, I would  choose for my future husband already to be gone (although this is one of the countless reasons I am so very thankful Our Lord is in control, and not me – I won’t have to actually decide!) – first, because he is, hopefully, praying for me with a power he could not have possessed on earth; second, that I could offer up my loneliness without him as another sacrifice to God for reparation; and third, because his physical absence would remind me all the more sharply that my approaching death is completely between God and myself alone.

But regardless of anything else – of anyone else in the room – of whether they’re my children and I’ve lived decades of my life with them or if I’ve never seen them until these last moments…notwithstanding all these things, there is the priest.

In my daydream, I don’t need to know this priest’s name, to recognize his face or the modulations of his voice. I simple need to know he is there. This faithful priest sits beside me in a kitchen chair (relocated to the bedroom), his head bowed slightly. He is accompanied by a Crucifix, a burning candle, the fragrant scent of holy oils, the book containing the traditional Last Rites. He is a powerful warrior, armed to defend and aid me in my last combat. Wholly, he is focused on protecting me and ushering me in to eternity. This is consoling beyond all words.

He murmurs along with the Rosary, helping me to pray, and I am holding his hand as the intensity escalates, both of my physical pain and also of the knowledge that my soul is separating from my body and I’ll soon be judged. Even as I whisper the Aves, I feel temptations to terror and despair sweep over me. My sins and failures, distended and grotesque, flicker sharply through my mind. I pray in fragments, terrified in final battle.

This good priest at my side, having already heard my Confession and absolved me, senses this: he urges me to have childlike trust in God and to surrender my soul entirely to the Blessed Virgin’s care, reminding me that I made myself entirely hers, and she will not forget me now. Repeatedly, I beg him to pray for me; in response, he nods and continues the Aves.

The Rosary is soon finished, and my surroundings become a haze of fading time. As the tempest of fear thickens within me, I begin to hear the names of the saints.

Holy Mary, pray for her.
All ye holy Angels and Archangels, pray for her.
Holy Abel, pray for her.
All ye Choirs of the Just, pray for her.
Holy Abraham, pray for her.
St. John the Baptist, pray for her.
St. Joseph, pray for her…

My soul warms at the name of the Blessed Mother; my patron, St. John the Baptist; and good St. Joseph. My eyes are closed now; I pray along with this last litany with increasing physical feebleness. The pain is at its highest point – but at the same time, I foggily sense that it is my rope to Heaven and I cling to it.

The priest’s voice finds me again.

“Go forth, O Christian soul, out of this world, in the name of God the Father almighty, Who created thee; in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, Who suffered for thee; in the name of the Holy Ghost, Who sanctified thee; in the name of the holy and glorious Mary, Virgin and Mother of God; in the name of the Angels, Archangels, Thrones, and Dominations, Cherubim and Seraphim; in the name of the Patriarchs and Prophets, of the holy Apostles and Evangelists, of the holy Martyrs, Confessors, Monks and Hermits, of the holy Virgins, and of all the Saints of God; may thy place be this day in peace, and thine abode in holy Sion. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.”

His prayers continue, guiding me like a small ship through a mighty storm while I, wearily but with hope, look for the first sign of stars as the last pieces of time fade around me.

Beyond this point, I can’t formulate much more. The precise moment of death is, perhaps, too shrouded even to daydream about. I do wish for one last thing, though: that this good priest, in my last minutes, be able to assist me in making a final renewal of my Total Consecration.

In the presence of all the heavenly court I choose thee this day for my Mother and Mistress. I deliver and consecrate to thee, as thy slave, my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, and even the value of all my good actions, past, present and future; leaving to thee the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me, without exception, according to thy good pleasure, for the greater glory of God in time and in eternity…

And even as I am praying this to the best of my ability, clinging to the priest’s hand, still hearing snatches of children’s voices and dishes clinking from behind the walls, I imagine the storm fading away; the tempest calming in my soul; the pain, even, ebbing; and, too wonderful almost to hope for, I imagine at last witnessing the mysterious fulfillment of Our Lady’s promise to those who honored her Seven Sorrows:

I will visibly help them at the moment of their death; they will see the face of their Mother.

And I exhale and close my eyes for the last time; and yet it feels as though I’m opening them.

It’s a strange feeling, to have woven a daydream of my own death. And yet there’s a sense of peace hovering about the completion.

In contemplating what it might be like, in hoping fervently for a holy one, and in having to depart from the daydream just before the actual moment of my death, I can’t resist a glance at Screwtape’s last letter of ranting failure to Wormwood, which can now stand in the place of what I chose to leave unsaid:

He saw Him. This animal, this thing begotten in a bed, could look on Him. What is blinding, suffocating fire to you, is now cool light to him, is clarity itself, and wears the form of a Man. You would like, if you could, to interpret the patient’s prostration in the Presence, his self-abhorrence and utter knowledge of his sins (yes, Wormwood, a clearer knowledge even than yours) on the analogy of your own choking and paralysing sensations when you encounter the deadly air that breathes from the heart of Heaven. But it’s all nonsense. Pains he may still have to encounter, but they embrace those pains. They would not barter them for any earthly pleasure. All the delights of sense, or heart, or intellect, with which you could once have tempted him, even the delights of virtue itself, now seem to him in comparison but as the half nauseous attractions of a raddled harlot would seem to a man who hears that his true beloved whom he has loved all his life and whom he had believed to be dead is alive and even now at his door. He is caught up into that world where pain and pleasure take on transfinite values and all our arithmetic is dismayed.

Mary Donellan forgot just one deathbed rite: the Apostolic Blessing* or Apostolic Pardon ministered by a priest after the Sacrament of Extreme Unction/Anointing of the Sick, the receiving of which guarantees that one does not go to Purgatory but straight to heaven. 3. Confession, Confession, Confession! What horror to be at the point of death and to have to remember and have contrition for, ages and ages since last Confession. Weekly is not too often. I think of my death too and at 73 I’m reminded that I perhaps don’t have that much time until I am called to my judgement. Death is so terrifying that most of us don’t think of it at all – we say “yes, we all have to die” but we don’t really mean it!

So thanks for this essay. Timely and well done.

4. Based on my experiences of 30 plus years in nursing, 8 in hospice, I do not see a lot of people who are alert and in full possession of their faculties until the very end. That is why it’s important to go to confession now, while you can, and to be sure your family members know the importance of calling a priest before it’s too late. Families who hold off calling the priest to not frighten the patient are doing a disservice, no matter how kindly their intentions. Arrange for the anointing, Viaticum, Apostolic Pardon. Tell your family you want this. Don’t make the mistake of just putting this in your will; by the time it’s read you would have passed on.

Most of the information on the following pages was accessed by me through an unsolicited email dated April 5, 2006, from an unknown source. (My first exposé on the Divine Retreat Centre (DRC), Muringoor was DIVINE RETREAT CENTRE ERRORS-01 and it was released in August 2006.) For over 11 years from 2006 till date, I had no intention or occasion to contemplate making the details public. It is being done presently as part of the new series titled DIVINE RETREAT CENTRE SCANDALS AND COURT CASES, and the reasons for my being constrained to do so are explained in the (INTRODUCTION) file of September 30, 2017 (in brief, because of the non-action of the Vincentian Congregation in the serial sexual molestation and rape of young women by Fr. Joby Kachapilly VC, the Director of a Retreat Centre managed by the same congregation of Vincentian priests which runs the Divine Retreat Centre, Muringoor. The running series of the rape-related reports is titled RAPE AND SEXUAL ABUSE BY INDIAN PRIESTS-CHURCH FAILS TO PUNISH GUILTY.

The http://www.YouMeAndJesus.com site is defunct since I know not when. Not expecting to use any of the information or the site to be pulled, I did not access many of the links that appear on the following pages and the information is not retrievable today. Much of the information extracted/recorded below is incoherent and rambling, but it underlines the intrigue and worldliness of those who run/manage/operate the various ministries, especially the music and media ministry, at DRC, Muringoor.

Even the rapist priest Fr. Joby was into music ministry and the commercial production of audio albums.

I make no personal judgement on the “singing couple” Abey and Swapna. I have always had a good personal relationship with them, with Swapna by email, and with Abey Kalisseril by telephone even till very recently. During the period that I used to visit the DRC, from 1995 to 2000, and for a few years thereafter, they were the praise and worship ministry favoured by Fr. Augustine Vallooran, even while Glen and Teresa LaRive were growing as an alternative, though less glamorous, team. The news going around was that the sale of Glen LaRive’s recorded music tapes was not being allowed on the DRC premises in order to encourage the promotion of those of Abey & Swapna, and that the latter were benefiting financially whereas Glen was not.

The Kalisserils would get to perform at virtually all the overseas missions whereas the LaRives were ignored.

Glen and Teresa renained faithful and humble (unlike most DRC staff), driving from Kochi to DRC in order to serve when summoned. When Abey walked out on Swapna and their children Adrian and Amy, and the couple was no more welcome at the DRC, the LaRives took over.

The other musicians in the English section were the brilliant singer and keyboard artiste Thankachan who was dismissed from DRC probably following a complaint made by me that he was making money on the side through the sale of a medicinal cure-all powder (details in one of the earlier reports), and Erik Pinheiro (Sr.).

The late guitarist Pinheiro shared with me about the miserable politics behind the scenes and how people like him were used/misused, shabbily treated, and thrown out of DRC on a regular basis, on the whims and fancies of Fr. Augustine Vallooran. In one of his letters to me, which I will reproduce in a forthcoming report, he reveals more of the sad inside story of the DRC music ministries in his own handwriting. He assured me that he was never reimbursed even for his travel from his residence to Divine Retreat Centre to conduct Praise and Worship. He is not alone; I have heard the same story from several other staffers and volunteers.

While reproducing below whatever content of the http://www.YouMeAndJesus.com site I had accessed and stored in my archives in 2006, I have deleted a lot of extraneous information as well as images.

Despite that, some of the content below is almost incoherent. Much of it has been used by me just to show how complicated the entire off-stage behind-the-scenes scenario at DRC is. There are accusations of cheating, blackmailing, betrayal, vendetta, filing of police complaints, computer hacking, etc. bandied about.

Strangely, several of the leading players linked to DRC music ministry in the dialogues and chats one will read below are not Catholics but ex-Catholics (or “born again” PENTECOSTALS like “pastor” Rajesh Mathews of the Joshua Generation “church” and John Kodiyil – who is also now a “pastor” I understand).

The reader will also find a few reports of allegations of rape, murder, suicides, mysterious deaths, foreign exchange violations, defrauding, suing, issuing of arrest warrants, etc. at the DRC.

A substantial portion of the dialogue concerns money… and impersonation using social networking sites!

I would have probablty had a whole lot more of information had I accessed all of the links in 2006 immediately on receipt of the anonymous email of April 5, 2006.

Didn’t Abey Kalisseril repay Swapna’s dowry?

Ha ha… Very interesting… Usually when we were in mission, we never saved anything. Just made enough to cover our expenses and if there was any excess, it was a common account, until last year when I realized I never had anything and we decided to halve it until every joint activity ended. The debt is on the house that I was building in Ooty. I just have to keep paying an instalment every month. The builder of that house now knowing my position, also a friend of Abey’s has cheated me by a fairly huge amount. I let God deal with him. Just hope that he will finish most of the work in a month’s time so that it will be a liveable house and I can shift to there from here. Cannot bear the rent over here and all the other expenses… The other major debt is from my dad and from a girl friend to restart business… and to relocate myself in Chennai. Since my revenues are not being generated yet, I have to ask my dad or my friend to help me for everything. The children were with me for their hiliday and it was no joke taking care of all their needs during the holiday and preparing them for school.

He has told me that he will not pay me maintenance, not repay my dowry, he wants half custody over the children, right now his father who has a big business enterprise takes care of the children’s school fees. I do not want to go for any suit as it will put the families to great shame and more than that, disgrace the Name of my God. The effect on the children will also be traumatic and so I agree to everything, except to gamble with my life all over again. Am not too old now, but if there will be a repeat of this experience ten years from now… I will be at a total loss to start all over again.

It will be rather hectic for me to make it on the 20th. I have a school mate visiting from New York. But I will try. In any case, I will keep you informed. God bless you Uncle. SIT to probe allegations against Muringoor Divine Centre

Wednesday, March 15, 2006, 10:40 PM Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Friday directed the Government to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Vinson M. Paul, Inspector General of Police who is now working as Director, Kerala Police Housing Construction Corporation, to probe into various allegations, including sexual exploitation of women against the Divine Retreat Centre at Muringoor in Thrissur district.

Justice K. Padmanabhan Nair also ordered that the SIT should inquire into the allegation of foreign exchange violations by the centre and unnatural deaths that took place in and around the centre during the past two years. He ordered that the team be constituted within two weeks.

The direction came on an anonymous letter complaining about criminal and anti-social activities taking place at the centre. After initiating suo motu proceedings on the basis of the letter, the court had received a complaint from a woman detained at the District Jail, Kozhikode, saying that a priest at the Divine Centre raped her. She was detained in the jail in connection with a theft in the centre. According to her, she had filed a complaint before the District and Sessions Judge, Kozhikode, regarding the rape. She said that the police were not investigating the case. She alleged that in the past two years, a number of dead bodies were found on the National Highway and the railway track near the centre. According to her, these deaths were not deaths due to accidents.

She, in her complaint, said that the bodies were buried in the public ground. The keeper of the burial ground had once objected to bringing dead bodies having injuries. He was found dead in mysterious circumstances within two months. Women coming to the centre were being sexually exploited by the priest at the centre, she alleged.

The court said that the investigation into the complaint of the woman was in cold storage. The attempt of the investigation officers was to exonerate the accused and make the complainant as accused.

The court ordered appointment of a senior officer in view of the allegations that senior IAS and IPS officers were associating with the functioning of the centre. The court also made it clear that it was open to the SIT to resort to scientific methods such as polygraph test, brain mapping and DNA finger printing. The preliminary report should be filed within one month.
